An incomplete, copper-alloy Early-Medieval/Anglo-Scandinavian openwork stirrup-strap mount of Williams Class A, Type 10D. The mount is rectangular in form, with a rounded upper surface which terminates in a wide triangular apex, decorated with three rounded bosses and containing a central circular rivet hole. The rivet hole measures 4 mm in diameter. The mount has a small projecting lobe on each side halfway down its length. An incomplete copper alloy ornamental cross-staff head mount. The spherical head has an openwork design decorated with five surviving knops. One complete sub-oval hole survives with an internal length of 5.11mm and width of 3.93mm. The broken edges are rough and crude. Projecting from the base of the object is an integrally cast hollow cylindrical expanded collar or shaft. This measures 18.62mm in height and is 19.05mm in diameter at its centre. An incomplete cast copper alloy pin dating to the Early Medieval period, (400-1066AD). The object has a polyhedral head below which is a circular transverse collar. Just below the collar the shaft of the pin broke away during antiquity. The collar measures 4mm in diameter. The head of the pin is faceted. Each face and the top of the head are decorated with a single punched ring-and-dot motif. The top of the head is lozenge shaped in plan. A similar example is no.361, p67, Griffiths et al, (2007).

A complete cast copper alloy strap end dating from the late Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) to the early Medieval period, (c.850-1200AD). The object has a rectangular plate with a triangular terminal. The object is a one piece strap end with a rectangular slot within the rectangular plate which would have contained the strap. Two rivets remain in situ and would have secured the strap. Cast lead alloy possible model for an Early Medieval horse harness link. The object is sub-rectangular in plan and D-shaped in cross section. One end curves upwards slightly. The opposite end expands into an incomplete loop which terminates with a break. In the centre of the object are three bands of transverse moulding. A similar copper alloy object which is recorded on the database is SUR-10D9E3.

Fragment of a cast copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch from the late 5th or 6th century AD. The fragment is a zoomorphic terminal from the foot of the brooch (pictured upside down). The object has expanded circular nostrils above the spatulate extension, which is decorated with a transverse groove above a row of stamp marks. The stamps appear to be annulets, but are largely obscured by soil. Each nostril has a central circular dot. Above the nostrils is the broken stub of the nose of the animal. The shaft is circular in cross-section and measures 1.39mm in diameter. The head is facetted with 12 faces. There is no visible decoration on the faces. The top of the head is lozenge shaped and undecorated. The object has a brown patina and is worn. A similar example is no.361, p67, Griffiths et al, (2007). A similar example which can be found on the database is LVPL-54A6A0.

Cast copper alloy wrist-clasp, probably of Hines form B20, dating to the early Anglo-Saxon period. The object is sub-rectangular in plan and rectangular in cross-section. It is decorated with a vertical ridge and groove, to the side of which is a series of transverse lines. On the opposite side of the plate are two circular perforations. Each edge of the clasp is broken. It has a mid-green patina. A similar example is no.29.25, p179, MacGregor and Bolick, (1993).

Cast copper alloy zoomorphic strap end dating to the Early Medieval period. The strap-end is made from a solid piece of copper alloy. The central panel of the object is decorated with worn interlace. The terminal is moulded to form an abstract animal's head backed by two curved incisions representing ears. The butt end has two perforations for rivets. The reverse is undecorated and has been damaged. The object can be classified as G. Thomas's Class A, Type 2. Similar examples can be found in Meols, (2007), p73. The object has a brownish green patina and is worn.

Cast copper alloy pin dating to the Early Medieval period, (400-1066). The pin head is globular, but flattened on top and has four irregular faceted sides. The facets taper to a ring collar at the junction with the shaft. The shaft is sub-circular in cross-section. The lower portion and the point of the pin have broken off and are missing. At the top of the object is a ring-and-dot decoration. The dot is infilled with royal blue enamel. The remains of blue enamel can also be seen in the groove above and below the collar. The object has a mid-green patina and is in good condition.

Cast copper alloy spherical pin head. The pin head is decorated with small circular raised bosses. One decorates the top centre of the head while four more decorate the circumference of the object. Below the head is a ring collar. The shaft has broken away. This example can be classified as Hinton and Parsons type Ad, Hinton, p19-20, (Southamption Finds Volume Two; The gold, silver and other non-ferrous alloy objects from Hamwic, and the non-ferrous metalworking evidence). It can be dated to the Anglo-Saxon period.
