An incomplete lead alloy salt pan probably dating to the Roman period. The salt pan is folded and fragmented. The salt pan appears to be the base, which would have been rectangular when complete with the sides missing. There is no visible stamp or inscription on the object. The object measures 540mm in width. Note: This object has been recorded from the images and not from the object itself. Another incomplete salt pan has been recorded on the PAS database as LVPL-942D3C.

The object consists of two halves of a salt pan of flattened lead alloy each of which are rectangular in plan with a folded rectangular rim along two edges. The remaining two edges on each half appear to have been cut in what appears to be a deliberate way. The object consists of one large side from which projects a smaller oval of lead. This would have passed through the hole in the vessel to secure the mend. A fragmenet of a ceramic object, possibly a vessel of Roman to Medieval date. The object is irregular in plan and straight in profile. The outer face has been decorated with four diagonal grooves on one side and four almost vertical grooves on the other side resulting in an herringbone-like pattern. The internal face is undecorated. A copper alloy possible vessel escutcheon plate of Roman date. The object is circular in plan and is flat. The outer face is decorated with a series of triangular cells which are infilled with alternating light yellow and red enamel. Twenty-six cells make up the decoration, thirteen of each colour. A fragment of a shard from the rim of a vessel, of Roman greyware, dating from AD 43 - 410. The object is curved in profile and the rim is rolled. The fabric is coarse, of a dark grey-brown colour with frequent small inclusions. The internal fabric is the same colour as the external fabric indicating that the vessel was evenly fired. Greyware is a common type of Roman pottery and was common during the 1st and 2nd centuries, but continued in use in some areas into the 4th century.

A lead alloy probable vessel repair, (pot-mend), dating from the Roman to the Post-Medieval period, (AD43-1700). The object is circular in plan and domed. One face is flat while the opposite face is irregular and uneven. A circumferential groove divides each face along the edge. The object has a light brown patina. Pot mends of this form are found in both Roman and Medieval periods, as a common way to repair broken vessels. Without any remains of the pot it is impossible to date it more precisely.

A cast copper alloy handle from a Roman patera. The handle is flat and is broken into two halves. It is almost complete. One end of the handle is concave where it would have continued into the vessel rim. The terminal end is rounded and the handle narrows slightly in the centre. A projection expands outwards from the centre of the terminal and curves round to join the edge of the handle creating an oval shaped perforation in the centre.
