Four fragments of copper alloy casting waste. The fragments were one object upon discovery and have since broken and separated. Each fragment is irregular in plan and has a mid-green patina. Dimensions: Large: 28mm x 30mm Medium: 11mm x 15mm 2 X small: 10-15mm Combined weight: 17.5g Due to the nature of this find an exact date can not be given. However a Bronze Age flanged axehead LVPL-AC4D8B was recovered from the same field suggesting an early date is possible.

A complete cast copper alloy long flanged axehead (developed flat axe) dating from the final phase of the Early to the earliest Middle Bronze Age (c. 2000 - 1700 BC). The axehead is most probably of the axe type Arreton which is dated to Early Bronze Age III, of metalworking stage V, which corresponds to Needham's (1996) Period 3 circa 2000 - 1700 CAL BC. An incomplete copper alloy spearhead of later Middle Bronze Age to Late Bronze Age date, c.1500-800 BC. The object is triangular in plan with a central raised rib on each face. The mid rib is lozenge shape and extends to the base of the object where it terminates with a break. The tip of the spearhead is complete and measures 4mm in width and 3mm thick. An almost complete copper alloy flat axehead of early Bronze Age date, c.2150 - 1500 BC. The axehead is sub-oval in plan with a lentoid cross-section. The axehead is extremely worn with no visible decoration. No signs of ridges or flanges are present indicating that this is an early flat axe.
