A Post medieval copper alloy mount , AD.1600-1700. The mount is shaped like a trapezoidal in plan with a trefoil shaped knop at one end and two rounded lugs protruding from either side. The upper surface has moulded decoration and possible evidence for tinning. The reverse has two projecting lugs that have been bent over in order to attach the object. A fragment of leather is still present between the lugs. There is a third perforated lug behind the trefoil know of unknown function. See Read 2001 no.322,324 and 330 for similar parallels. A Medieval small silver bar mount with terminal and central lobes c. 1270-1400 AD. The central lobe has a circular perforation 2.9mmin diameter. Both terminal lobes have a smaller circular perforation, less than 1mm in diameter. The mount is 14.7mm long, 4.5mm wide, 2.2mm thick and weighs 0.47 grams. Similar copper-alloy versions recorded as 15th Century in Egan and Pritchard, Dress Accessories, London 1991, no. 1161. Silver examples have been recorded as Treasure cases, eg: 2009 T247, 2008 T733 and 2010 T787.

A complete Medieval copper alloy circular mount of depicting a griffin in relief on a pelleted field. The griffin is in profile facing left, and has a pair of wings emerging from the shoulder, a beak, two horn-like ears. Its two front legs are merged and has two clear rear legs with three splayed toes. A Medieval small silver bar mount with terminal and central lobes c. 1270-1400 AD. The central lobe has a circular perforation 3.2mmin diametre. Both terminal lobes have a smaller circular perforation, less than 1mm in diameter. The mount is 15.9mm long, 5.6mm wide, 1.9mm thick and weighs 0.59 grams. Similar copper-alloy versions recorded as 15th Century in Egan and Pritchard, Dress Accessories, London 1991, no. 1161. A complete Medieval cast copper alloy Limoges style enameled reliquary or cross mount of c. 12th/13th century AD. A copper alloy Medieval mount of c. AD 1350-1400 date. The mount is rectangular in plan and cross section. There are two circular perforations in the centre of the mount surrounded by border of two concentric rectangular grooves. There is a rivet hole in each corner, all of which still contain cylindrical rivets. A very similar example can be seen in Egan (1996) page 196 ref 1049. The mount is 34.2mm long, 19.2mm wide, 1.7mm thick and weighs 5.83 grams.

A Post Medieval silver mount of probably 16th or 17th Century date. The mount in shaped as a convex, squared shield and decorated with an inscription in incised relief on its face. A Post-Medieval (1500-1700) copper alloy Mount. The mount is kite-shaped, the wider end being rounded with aknop projecting from the lower edge. It terminates with a fleur de lis projection at the narrower end. it is undecorated. The reverse is flat with two integral spikes which have been bent in facing each other. Cf. A Roman copper alloy figurine of a lion which appears to have functioned as a mount. The object depicts a lion in a seated position, crouched on all four limbs which are under the body. An incomplete copper-alloy decorative belt mount of Post-Medieval date. It is roughly triangular in shape with one triangular terminal and one rounded one. The back face has one complete integral spike and the remains of the base of another. There are similar examples recorded on the PAS database: SF-F85911 and SF-3D9548. This mount is of Post-Medieval date of the 16th-17th centuries AD. The mount is 25.1mm long, 5.3mm wide, 1.4mm thick and weighs 1.14grams.
