Enamelled cast copper alloy disc brooch with four lugs dating from the Roman period, that is from between c. AD100-250. The brooch is complete with hinge, foot and pin on the reverse. It is in very good condition. It has four lugs (top, bottom, left and right), two of which are perforated.The brooch is plain on the back and decorated with enamelled decoration on the obverse. The enamel was applied to small cells of rectangular and tear/petal shape. Complete earthenware accessory vessel dating from the Roman period, that is the 2nd or 3rd century AD. The vessel is complete; its form suggests that it was a small accessory vessel/jar accompanying a larger urn. It was made from wheel-thrown dark grey sand-tempered fabric and bears a burnished lattice decoration on the shoulders and neck, commonly known as Black Burnished Ware or BB2. According to www.potsherd.net, BB2 was produced at sites around the Thames estuary (Kent/GB and Essex/GB)and distributed in south-east England and in northern Britain during the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD.

Two rim fragments of a glass vessel dating from the Roman period, that is c. AD150-225 (Mid-second to early third century AD). The fragments make up a small triangular sherd of glass from the rim of the vessel which was probably a cylindrical cup with fire-rounded rim and double-base ring. Glass cups of this type were normally made from colourless or greenish-colourless glass, occasionally with a blueish-green tinge. A fragment of a cast copper-alloy probable trumpet brooch of Roman date. It is the foot, catchplate and part of the bow of the brooch, the rest missing due to old breaks. The bow is oval in section and there is a terminal knop with a collar below this. The catchplate is triangular in shape and has no hole.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy umbonate brooch of Roman date. It is circular, domed and would have had four lugs around the perimeter, two of which survive. A hinged lug is located behind one of these and the remains of the catchplate behind the other. The rest of the brooch is missing due to old breaks. There is a deep channel around the perimeter which is incomplete due to old breaks. An incomplete cast copper-alloy bow brooch of Roman date. The bow and part of the footplate remain, the rest missing due to old breaks. It is circular in section and is decorated with a horizontal rib at the top of the bow and a second rib at the bottom of the bow and a rounded globe at the base. The catchplate, pin and top of the brooch are all missing.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy dragonesque brooch of Roman date. The brooch is flat and is roughly S-shaped. One terminal is missing due to old breaks and the other forms the dragon head terminal. The body of the brooch has three rectangular cells with a triangular cell at each end. These would have been filled with enamel and there are traces of blue enamel in two of the rectangular cells. The reverse is flat and undecorated.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy object of uncertain date and function. It is possibly a button and loop fastener of late Iron Age or early Roman date but this is not certain. It could also be Medieval in date. It is triangular in shape and circular in section with a small projection at one point where the remainder of the object has been broken off. There is no decoration.

Cast tin/lead-alloy or pewter whistle/rattle dating from the late modern period, i.e. c. AD1800-1900. The artefact is slightly bent and patinated but otherwise in good condition. The whistle is about 64mm long and is decorated with at least four round mouldings along its body. There are four cast loops on one moulding and two on another, probably small attachment loops for bells or other rattling equipment.
