Silver 8 real of Philip II of Spain dating to 1556-98. The flan is irregular in shape and is fairly thick. Due to the irregularity of the flan shape most of the legend is missing. In the mid-16th century major silver deposits were found in South America, in 'Peru'. This relates to an area much larger than modern day Peru. This coin was most l…

A heavily worn silver Long-cross penny of medieval date. The exact identity of this coin is uncertain. The central letter on the reverse cross appears to be a 'D', which may indicate a Durham or Irish mint; however, the legend is unclear and may indicate that it is a Low countries pollard. It measures 14mm in diameter, 0.1mm thick and weighs 0.49g.

An Early-Medieval Visigothic 'pseudo-imperial' gold tremissis, dating to the 6th century (pre-580). Grieson and Blackburn (1986, 48) state: '[The] profile bust of the obverse has a highly devolved cross on the chest, this being one of the most distinctive features separating Visigothic pseudo-tremisses from those of the Burgundians and the Franks. …
