A Post Medieval worn fragment of a gold dinar of North African (western Maghreb) and Southern Spanish (Al-Andalus) type dating from the 12th-17th centuries. A very worn incomplete silver coin of late medieval to post-medieval date (probably post-medieval). The shield may indicate it is of a German state although no corresponding example could be found. The details of the shield is very difficult to ascertain, although it is quartered, with the lower left and upper right quadrants also quartered. The coin has been crudely pierced, producing a square-edged rectangular piercing. This is located in approximately the upper lefthand corner of the reverse shield. Its location in relation to the obverse design can no longer be ascertained.

A copper-alloy Irish halfcrown of James II (1685-91) minted in May 1690 and known as part of the 'gunmoney' coinages produced to pay for James II (failed) attempt to regain the English crown after his deposition in 1689. These were so-called because they were made from all sorts of melted down base-metal scrap including from cannon, and would have been used as a token coinage to be exchanged for silver after the war. Description: Obverse shows Laureate bust left. Obverse legend reads IACOB VS.II/DEI GRA[TT or IT or TI]A . Reverse shows Crown with two sceptres crossed through, below …

A complete silver halfpenny of Henry VIII (1509-1547 AD). It is doublestruck, but very poorly, having both moved and rotated between strikes, so the inscription doesn't necessarily follow as it should. The inscription reads, obverse: h [ ] SIE x[ ]INA (the 'x' seems to be combined with an S from the other strike, and the following three letters are pretty much illegible. The reverse reads: TO[R]/(misplaced pellet from centre of coin on other strike) AS/x[C]A[N]/[ ]. Given the condition of the coin, a complete ID cannot be given but it would belong to Withers's Type 2 Canterbury h…
