A silver Edwardian penny with blundered legend. Probably an Edward I. The obverse has part of the reverse legend where the Kings name is typically found (CANTOR ANGL....). On the reverse, the quarters containing CIVI/TAS are blundered. This is a fault caused by mis-striking the coin in the die, and replacing the coin to restrike at a different axis.

A 19th-20th century modern replica of a silver penny of Aelfred Rex, which has been turned into a pendant by means of a nicely produced loop with rivet. The obverse depicts a helmeted bust facing left similar to London Monogram types, but is left facing, rather than right, with the addition of a sword behind his head. The reverse is unlike any known examples from the Early Medieval period, but likely to be an imitation of a fourth century Roman nummus reverse type, depicting Victory on the prow of a ship; a reverse type linked closely to the House of Constantine dynasty. A very worn incomplete silver coin of late medieval to post-medieval date (probably post-medieval). The shield may indicate it is of a German state although no corresponding example could be found. The details of the shield is very difficult to ascertain, although it is quartered, with the lower left and upper right quadrants also quartered. The coin has been crudely pierced, producing a square-edged rectangular piercing. This is located in approximately the upper lefthand corner of the reverse shield. Its location in relation to the obverse design can no longer be ascertained.
