Medieval Coin: Folded and incomplete gold quarter noble or quarter ryal issued between the reigns of Edward III (1327-1377) and the first reign of Edward IV (1461-1470).
Due to the folded and incomplete condition of the coin it has not been possible to more closely identify this coin. It can however be said that it is not one of the early issues of Edward III as the shield is in a tressure of 8 arches rather than 6 arches. The date range for the issue of this coin is therefore AD 1351-1470.
