A cast composite two piece lead/tin alloy button with separate embedded drawn iron wire shank (17th century). The button is discoidal in shape and flat. The decoration is dificult to see but comprises at the very least, two concentric relief circles, with a pattern between. The edge is ragged and flaking, the looped shank is broken and corroded. A good parallel from North Dorset is described in Read's 'Metal Buttons', p.101, no.400.

An assemblage of 16 medieval pottery sherds from Kingsbury Milborne Port, Somerset. The date range of the assemblage seems to broadly encompass the 12th to 13th centuries AD, although, one sherd may be late Saxon and a few sherds of post-medieval pottery were also found in association. The earliest sherd is the flattened upright rim of a late Saxon cooking vessel. The fabric has a light grey to buff core and dark grey-black surfaces. Part of a trapezoidal double frame cast copper alloy buckle, probably dating from the seventeenth century. Only the exterior edge of one of the frames survives. The frame is flat with a projecting ovoid knop on the exterior of each angle and in the centre of the exterior side of the frame there is a trefoil knop. A very similar example can be seen in Whitehead's 'Buckles 1250-1800' (1996, p. 84, no. 529). Whitehead dates his example to between c. 1620 and c. 1680. The buckle fragment is 28.99mm wide, 24.88mm long, 2.29mm thick and weighs 4.31g.

A medieval copper alloy strap end with two loops and two folded sheets (1270-1400 AD). The loops are made from plain copper alloy wire folded over and welded together. the loops are very narrow. the two loops are joined by a section of folded plain copper alloy sheet with wide gaps at the folds to accomodate the loops. A second broken sheet is attatched to one of the loops to form a jointed hinged stap end. A medieval copper alloy buckle with roller, pin missing (1200-1400 AD). The buckle has an oval frame with an ornate outside edge and offset and narrowed bar. The outside edge has two knops flanking a constriction for the roller. Parallels for this buckle can be found in Egan & Pritchard (1991, 72-4, no.s 288 & 301) although neither of the parallels are the same size as this example. this style of buckle seems to have remained in fashion for a period of at least two centuries. The buckle measures 26.12mm wide and 20.01mm long, it weighs 5.26g.

A late medieval copper alloy button (late 15th-16th centuries). The button is discoidal and solid with a convex front and flat back. It is decorated with a central pellet and a clockwise 8-bladed impeller. It has a rectangular-section sub-lozenge shaped shank. The object has a diameter of 12.06mm and is 14.74mm long (shank length 10.34mm)and weighs 2.84g. A good parallel for this button is recorded in Read (2005, no. 112), although this example is approximately 1mm smaller in diameter than Read's.

A copper alloy awl of probable Bronze Age date. The object measures 56.09mm long and 3.41mm diameter. It has a cylindrical cross section with a simple tapering point at one end and is flattened at the other. A similar object with comparable dimensions was found sealed under the rampart of a 'henge' at Castell Bryngwyn, Anglesey (Savory, 1980, no.486, pp.156 & 199).

A selection of 7 flint objects found at Ham Hill, Somerset in 1950. One is probably a late Neolithic chisel arrowhead (62.17mm long, 35.26mm wide, and 14.56mm thick, 26.67g. Another is probably an early Neolithic notched flake (36.82mm x 18.56mm x 4.50mm thick and 2.66g). Another three are early neolithic serrated blades (37.86 x 19.48 x 5.81mm, 4.91g; 29.64 x 26.95 x 7.21mm thick, 3.44g; 32.44 x 14.13 x 3.42mm thick, 1.56g). Two more objects are either a waste flake (32.63 x 23.12 x 8.52mm thick, 6.51g) or a core (55.77 x 27.68 x 10.40mm thick, 14.33g) without evidence for retouch.
