A dispersed hoard of 39 Roman coins comprising a large group of denarii from Mark Antony (32-31 BC) to Septimius Severus (193-211) and another group of sestertii, dupondii, and asses from Trajan (98-117) to Commodus (180-92). There is also a large group of unidentified base metal coins, probably from the same general period. Most of the denarii share the same orange corrosion, probably from being in an iron-rich context. Found with the aid of a metal detector, 26.9.06 (Treasure reference 2006 T467), with a further ten coins found during subsequent archaeological investigation by Archaeology South East (Treasure case number 2008 T285). This group consists of 4653 coins made in the fourth century AD from AD 330-350. Each coin, generally known today as a nummus,is predominantly copper-alloy with a tiny admixture of silver.
