Incomplete worn cast copper alloy umbonate brooch of early Roman date. Approximately one-third of the brooch survives. The brooch is slightly domed (convex) in profile and irregular in form. The front of the brooch is decorated with a central quatrefoil (two thirds complete) of recessed cells, containing yellow or degraded white enamel. This quatrefoil is set within a raised circular roundel. Around the outer perimeter of the roundel there is a ring (incomplete) of shield-shaped cells containing blue, red and white/yellow enamel. Incomplete worn cast copper alloy annular brooch of Early Medieval date (Anglo-Saxon). Approximately half of the brooch survives. The brooch is flat in profile and circular in form. The brooch is decorated with a series of irregularly spaced transverse lines on the front and is plain on the reverse. The brooch is broken at the point where the constriction for the, missing, pin is located. There are slight traces of possible silvering or tinning on the front of the brooch. Brooches of this type are typically dated to the sixth century, c.500-600.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, Midlands). cf. Mackreth 2011, 4.a. Plate 48. The wings are semi-cylindrical, which terminate with perforated incomplete wing caps. The axis bar, spring and pin are all missing. The wings are decorated with a single vertical groove. The bowhead is hump-like in profile. It is sub semi-circular in section and 'V' shaped groove as decoration. The bow is undecorated and gradually tapers to blunt point.
