An incomplete cast lead-alloy standing or hanging weight of uncertain date, probably Roman to Post Medieval, c. 43-1700 AD. The weight is conical and is formed by a filled sheet metal wrap. The top is missing showing a small hollow. The rest of the object is solid with an uneven circular base. The sheet metal of the wrap has diagonal line down the side probably caused by the lead splitting. The weight has a greyish brown patina. The weight stands 49.4mm high, is 38.9mm in diameter at its base, and weighs 171 grams. Lead weights are very hard to accurately date due to their wide use…

An incomplete copper-alloy artefact of uncertain date and function. The piece represents part of a hinged fitting. At the top, projecting upwards from a transverse ridge, are two perforated lugs. These are located at either end of the horizontal upper side and contain iron corrosion from the now-missing axis bar. The remaining portion of the body is sub-rectangular, has scalloped vertical edges and three perforations, including one large one at the point of the break.
