Description: A complete medieval silver pendant in a cruciform shape (13th - 14th century). It measures 18.89mm in length, 14.83mm wide and 1.76mm thick. There is a suspension loop at the top of the pendant which is off set at ninety degrees. The loop measures 3.79mm and has a circular perforation. At the centre of the cross is a rectangle, upon which a saltire has been incised and inlaid with niello. A complete cast lead probable pendant of probably post-medieval date. The pendant is broadly circular in plan with a slight projection at the top, located below is a broadly circular perforation. The front face is decorated with a twin tailed, crowned lion rampant facing left holding a bow and arrow. The reverse is worn and is decorated with a crown.
The pendant is 33.60mm in length, 29.5mm wide and weighs 26.45grams.
