An incomplete copper alloy T-shaped bow brooch.The bow and a fragment of the pin only remain. The wings are short and tubular, housing the axis bar for a hinged pin, the wings are filled with a white substance. The front of the wings are both decorated with three incised lines. The head of the pin is still attached to the bar in a notch between the wings. The head of the pin is expanded from the shaft and has a slight point at one side to press against the back of the brooch to tension the pin. An incomplete copper alloy Roman equal ended plate brooch dating to AD 100-200. One lug and the pin are missing, the brooch is slightly damaged. The brooch is broadly rectangular in plan. The front face is decorated with two vertical grooves flanking a central raised rectangle which is surrounded by a fine pellet border. The centre of the rectangular is recessed, no evidence of inlay survives. Two further projections are located at the top and bottom of the main body of the artefact, on the reverse of these projections are the lugs and the now missing catch plate respectively.…

An incomplete gilded cast copper-alloy lozengiform strip brooch of middle early-medieval (8th- to early 9th-century) date. It is formed of one piece of metal wrought into a flat lozengiform plate with wire continuations at the longer apexes. At one end the catchplate is broken off. At the other end is a curved wire projection (c. 8.55mm) which is the incomplete coil for the spring and pin. The plate has suffered some abrasions and larger losses at the smaller side apexes.
