An incomplete cast copper alloy steelyard (scale with beam arms of unequal length), of Roman period, probably dating between 1st and 2nd Century AD. Only the arm survives which is in three pieces. The steelyard is composed by longitudinal arm with notched calibratrions which is circular shape in cross-section and measures c. 270mm in length. On end of the arm widens into a circular knop (22.15mm in diameter) while the other extends into a rectangular shape plate with three holes for the attachement of the objects and weights. Fragment of a Roman silver trumpet derived bow and fantail brooch dating to the second century AD. Only the lower part (the fantail) and the catch plate survive. Raised moulding below the break, acting as the terminus of the fantail, is decorated with two wide deep grooves and two smaller central grooves. The fantail is decorated with an engraved central chalice shape containing a deep incised heart motif. A fragment of a probable copper alloy cheek piece of late early-medieval date (Williams Type 2). The piece is flat and very abraded. One end terminates in a knop which then flattens and widens to what may be the beginnings of a circular loop. This loop appears to have had a central bar. The piece is 37mm in length, 23.2mm at its widest point and 3.7mm thick. It weighs 9.93 g.
