An incomplete cast copper alloy steelyard (scale with beam arms of unequal length), of Roman period, probably dating between 1st and 2nd Century AD. Only the arm survives which is in three pieces. The steelyard is composed by longitudinal arm with notched calibratrions which is circular shape in cross-section and measures c. 270mm in length. On end of the arm widens into a circular knop (22.15mm in diameter) while the other extends into a rectangular shape plate with three holes for the attachement of the objects and weights. Fragment of a Roman silver trumpet derived bow and fantail brooch dating to the second century AD. Only the lower part (the fantail) and the catch plate survive. Raised moulding below the break, acting as the terminus of the fantail, is decorated with two wide deep grooves and two smaller central grooves. The fantail is decorated with an engraved central chalice shape containing a deep incised heart motif. A fragment of a probable copper alloy cheek piece of late early-medieval date (Williams Type 2). The piece is flat and very abraded. One end terminates in a knop which then flattens and widens to what may be the beginnings of a circular loop. This loop appears to have had a central bar. The piece is 37mm in length, 23.2mm at its widest point and 3.7mm thick. It weighs 9.93 g.

A medieval/ early post-medieval (1400-1600) copper-alloy beehive thimble of cast construction standing 19.35mm tall and weighing 7.55 grams. The thimble is domed with slightly flared sides and a rounded 'tonsure' top. The drilled pits begin outside this and continue in a continuous spiral to the base in a regular fashion. Above the base is a plain rim. It measures 16.9mm in internal diameter at the open end tapers towards the dome. A medieval copper alloy single loop rectangular buckle frame with plate dating to AD 1200-1400. The buckle is broadly rectangular, the outer edge of the loop is orval in cross section and slightly narrowed in contrast to the edges of the frame. The edges of the frame curve outwards slightly and are rectangular in cross section. The pin bar is narrowed and the pin survives. The plate is formed from a single rectangular copper-alloy sheet which has been folded over the pin bar. There is a central recess for the pin. A complete medieval annular brooch dating to c. AD 1200-1400. The brooch is lozengeform and D shaped in cross section. The recess to hold the pin is located at one corner, foliate decoration (possible fleur de lis) are located at the remaining three corners. There is no evidence of surviving gilding on the front face, traces of gilding are located to the reverse. The remainder of the reverse is flat. The pin is slightly bent and has a horizontal raised band before tapering to the point. The brooch is 19.4mm in length, 21.75mm wide, 3.7mm thick and weighs 1.91 grams.

A copper-alloy medieval bar mount dating to the period c. AD 1350 - 1400. The mount is hemispherical in cross-section. The central lobe is circular, concave to the reverse and domed to the front and features a band of four horizontal grooves tapering together and with a design of cross hatched grooves. At either end of the central lobe is a circular lobe with a centrally located rivet, one rivet is missing. The mount is similar in design to one seen in Brian Read, 2001, pp. 23, nos.151. The mount measures 22.7mm in length, 11.85mm wide, 4.05mm thick and weighs 2.17 grams.

The buckle frame is broadly D shaped with three expansions, it is D shaped in cross section. A rivet with a rounded top is located within a perforation in each of these expansions. The pin bar is narrowed and recessed. The reverse of the buckle is flat. The buckle is 23.4mm in length, 25.45mm wide, 4.6mm maximum thickness and weighs 3.43 grams.

It exhibits three negative flake scars on the dorsal surface from previous flake removal. The striking platform is not visible, this is due to later retouch. There is short semi-abrupt scaled retouch on the dorsal face. The scraper measures 38.65mm in length, 36.8mm in width, is 8.4mm thick and weighs 13.93 grams.

An imcomplete Post-Medieval (AD 1650-1800) Toy Gun. The gun consists of the butt and barrel, with the stubs of an iron trigger mechanism which project both above and below the position of the lock. Some of the long cylindrical barrel is missing. It is cast in one piece with a groove along the top edge to accommodate the iron mechanism, mentioned above. The external surface is decorated with scrolls and curlicues of vegetal character. A copper-alloy post medieval strap fitting dating to the period c. AD 1600 - 1700. The fitting is D-shaped in profile with an ovular central raised boss. Trapeziodal terminals with rounded corners project from either end of the boss. Each terminal exhibits a lug projecting from the reverse which is bent at a ninety degree angle approximately mid-way along its length. The strap fitting has an uneven brown/green patina. The strap fitting measures 21.65mm in length, 9.7mm wide, 13.6mm thick and weighs 3.45 grams. Cf. HAMP-99D433

A copper-alloy post-medieval strap-fitting (c. 17th century AD). The mount is sub-triangular in plan, terminating at the apex in a knop depicting an acorn. There is a broadly circular projection at the other. On the reverse there are a pair of lugs, both are complete. The lower surface is otherwise flat and plain with a slight concavity at the centre. The strap fitting is 30.35mm in length, 14.35mm wide, 6.0mm thick and weighs 3.53 grams.
