A worn and incomplete Roman cast plate brooch of 2nd-century date. This flat brooch has an annular body with circular open centre (Dia.: 8.9mm). At the cardinal points are four protrusions which have suffered differing levels of abrasion. On the lower surface on the two complete, opposing protrusions are, respectively, the abraded catch-plate and the perforated, semi-circular double pin lug. A damaged and incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman T-shape brooch dating to around the second half of the 1st century AD. Although the brooch survives in good condition, both wings are bent, the catch-plate has been damaged due to an old break and the pin is missing. A fragment of an abraded Roman oxidised fineware vessel with lead vessel mend. The fragment is possible from a East Gaulish samian ware vessel. The vessel fragment is a possible rim fragment of a Roman fineware vessel with a heavily abraded slip. The fragment has sparse very fine inclusions. The vessel has been repaired with an in situ lead vessel mend which is circular in cross section on the interior of the vessel and broadly rectangular on the exterior of the vessel. The vessel is 24.1mm in length, 50.45mm wide, 7.6mm thick (vessel), 10.65mm thick (repair) and weighs 6.27 grams.
