An incomplete cast pewter two-part handle from a drinking vessel (probably a tankard) of post-medieval date (c. 1650 - c. 1750). The handle is broken at the base, and the mechanism for lifting the lid survives but the lid itself is missing. The mechanism/lid consists of a tapering projection with three symmetrical grooves forming a V on each edge. The projection has evidence of old breaks measuring up to 2mm below the incised grooves which suggest that the tankard lid was possibly made out of pewter and was integrally cast to the mechanism. A cast copper-alloy shoe or knee buckle of post-medieval date (17th century), incomplete in so far as it is missing its pin. The buckle is sub-rectangular in form, with openwork perforations in each corner broadly in the shape of circles. Between the openwork corners each outer edge features a transverse groove on their upper surface; the lower surface is entirely plain. Each loop has a triangular outer edge with central transverse pin groove, and rounded knops at their corners. A damaged spherical cast copper-alloy post-medieval animal 'crotal' (bell). This complete example has a sub-square suspension loop between two circular sound holes located on the upper hemisphere. The sound holes are recessed on the outer surface and measure c. 5/6mm in diameter. The upper hemisphere is plain. The suspension loop has a angled top and the curve of the bell continues through the opening suggesting it was made using the detachable sprue-piece casting method developed in the 17th century. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman Aucissa brooch which is missing the catch-plate and lower part of the bow (1st century AD). The head is a continuation of the flat strip of the bow. The upper edge is rolled forward to create a tube which holds the spindle on which the pin hinges. There is a slot in the centre of the head to hold the head of the pin which has now corroded in place. A fragment of blade from a broken Bronze Age cast copper-alloy axehead. The fragment is of the cutting edge, with a old chip just off the tip. The fragment is slightly bent at one tip and the break is rough; the damage means that if the axe was socketed this is no longer visible. The cross-section is almost oval, with the sides expanding out towards the blade end. The fragment is triangular in profile, tapering from the body to the cutting edge.
