A complete early-medieval (Anglo-Saxon or Anglo-Scandinavian) to medieval copper-alloy sword pommel (c. 900-c. 1100). The pommel is hollow, broadly triangular in plan and is of 'lobed' form. It consists of five rounded and curved lobes that decrease in size from the central and largest lobe. The central lobe has an aperture at the top through which the tang of the sword would have passed, The aperture is slightly off centre. An incomplete copper-alloy openwork sword or dagger pommel of uncertain date, probably medieval to post-medieval. The open work pommel is broadly circular (43.25mm wide) and roughly oval in cross section (14.5mm thick at the base, 30.95mm thick at the central knops and 18.75mm thick at the break) with expanding sides, it is incomplete due to old breaks as it tapers towards the hilt. The pommel is decorated with an openwork foliate design and a circular projecting knop at the centre on each face. A complete iron sword pommel of Medieval date. The pommel is oval in plan and irregular in section. In section the pommel appears as a squat cylinder with an enlarged mid-section which gives the pommel a bi-conical form with the tops of the cones truncated and a broad flat band, which forms the middle of the pommel, joining the two truncated conical halves. The broad flat band area of the pommel has two rounded rectangular holes directly opposite each other and one larger in size than the other. A cast copper alloy Post-medieval sword pommel, with iron tang still in place. The tang projects from both perforations and is broadly triangular in cross section, 8.85mm and 7.7mm in length respectively. The tang is 9.6mm wide and is heavily corroded.
