A complete side plate of a copper alloy medieval (14th century) sub rectangular composite strap end. It has a round aperture and two rivet holes with rivets in place at the incurved attachment end. It is overall 33.05mm in length, 14.55mm in width and is straight sided with knop largely missing. It is heavily abraded but apparently undecorated. The remains of a spacer appear to be attached on parts of the underside of the plate.

It is sub-rectangular and elongated in form, with a snub-nosed zoomorphic terminal and an expanded split attachment end with two rounded lobes. The strap end would have had two seperate copper-alloy rectangular plates attached to the main body through a circular sectioned rivet. the rivet and one plate survives. A further perforation is located at the tip of the plate. The strap end is 29.6mm in length, 13.5mm wide, 3.25mm thick and weighs 4.41 grams.

A composite copper alloy strap end, made by folding the metal sheet in half lengthways. The strap end is tongue shaped with a small rounded knop at its terminus. The leather would have been secured by a single rivet at the opposite end - the rivet itself does not survive. The strap end has been silvered and this is mostly intact. The strap end measures 16.73 x 12.39 x 3.52mm. It weighs 2.71 grams. Egan & Pritchard (1991) date this type to the 14th century.

A cast copper alloy Medieval strap end. The strap end is a rectanglular sheet which has been folded. The two plates are uneven in length (21.45mm and 19.8mm) the longer plate has been bent outwards slightly at the tip. At the opposite edge there is a single copper alloy rivet through a rivet hole on each plate. There is a 1.8mm gap between the two plates. The strap end is undecorated. The surface of the strap end has a dark green patina. In length the strap end is 21.45mm, 7.9mm wide and 3mm thick. It weighs 1.62g.

An incomplete tinned copper-alloy Early-Medieval Carolingian strap end dating to the 8th or 9th centuries, the separate plate to hold the strap is missing. The strap-end is rectangular in plan and irregular in cross section. A copper-alloy Medieval strap-end. The plate is broadly rectangular in form, it consists of one plate which has been bent inwards upon itself. Both faces narrow gradually to an incomplete possible angled end. At the incomplete end is a small circular perforation on both sheets with a surviving copper-alloy rivet. One face has been bent outwards slightly. The strap-end is 23.65mm in length, 11.35mm wide, 4.75mm thick and weighs 1.49 grams.

A cast copper-alloy Medieval composite strap-end (c. 14th century AD). It is formed of a sheet spacer plate between a pair of sheets; the spacer plate is slightly shorter than the sheets. The strap-end is sub-rectangular, narrowing very slightly to an angled end with triangular terminal protrusion. It is held together by a pair of rivets, one central at the attachment end, the other central just above the terminal. The object can be dated to the later 14th century by comparison with a parallel illustrated in Egan and Pritchard 1991 (142; ref. 660).

A fragment of an Early medieval strap end of probable 9th century date, only the terminal survives. The strap end would have tapered towards the terminal which tapens to a point, the terminal also thickens at this point. The terminal depicts an animals head, with large broadly triangular eyes and flattened ears. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The strap end is 17.4mm in length, 11.1mm wide, 3.85mm thick and weighs 1.8 grams.
