A fragment of a copper alloy Roman spoon dating to c AD 100-150. The spoon fragment comprises a short section of the handle, the offset section where it joins to the bowl and a fragment of the bowl. The handle is oval in cross section and at the bowl end of the handle, it flattens and curves sharply downwards and continues towards the bowl which it joins just under the back edge. A incomplete copper-alloy spoon of uncertain date. The majority of the bowl survives although the circumference is damaged, the bowl is broadly circular 78.15mm in diameter and 21.2mm in depth. Both internally and externally the bowl in undecorated. The handle projects from the bowl and tapers from 17.35mm wide to 6.4mm at the break. The handle is decorated wuith multiple motifs. A fragment of a copper alloy tinned Roman spoon (AD c.300-410), comprising approximately a quarter of the bowl and most of the elbow and missing all of the stem. Overall the fragment measures 28.45mm long, 22.25mm wide and 13.8mm thick . It weighs 2.84 grams The bowl is 0.6mm thick and would probably have been circular in shape. The elbow is broadly rectangular in section, with a curved lower edge. In profile it is almost semi circular.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman spoon dating to the period AD 43-410. The incomplete bowl is shallow and is oval. A small fragment of the stem survives, at the break it is rectangular in cross section (3.35mm wide and 1.75mm thick) It measures 34.75 mm in length, 19.45mm wide, 4.75 mm thick and weighs 3.07.

A fragment of a copper-alloy with high tin content possible spoon of possible Roman date. The stem is oval in cross section and expands from the old break to the fragment of the bowl (6.9mm wide to 9.5mm wide). Only a fragment of the bowl survives (c. 5.3mm in length and 11.25mm wide). The reverse is broadly flat, a small rectangular recess is visible 11.3mm from the break of the bowl which is 4.2mm in length and 2.05mm wide. The spoon is 38.05mm in length, 11.25mm wide, 3.95mm thick and weighs 5.05 grams.

An fragment of Roman (AD 100-300) copper alloy spoon, consisting of an incomplete pear-shaped bowl, the 'C' or 'U' shaped joint and the base of the offset handle. It measures 49.9mm in length, 23.95mm wide, 8.80mm thick and weighs 8.31 grams. The 'C' shaped joint is 8.80mm tall and 3.85mm thick. A fragment of the tip of the bowl is missing. The handle is circular in section at the worn break and measures 3.45mm in diameter. According to Crummy (1988: 69) and de la Bedoyere (1989: 102), spoons with pear-shaped bowls were in use from the first half of the second century onwards

An incomplete copper-alloy spoon of uncertain date, the stem is incomplete. The pear spoon bowl is slightly distorted, cracked and has been bent upwards slightly. It is 19.95mm at its widest point before tapering towards the stem. The stem has not been reinforced, it projects from the bowl and tapers towards the break. A post-medieval incomplete lead alloy spoon. The handle is broadly hexagonal in cross section, it thickens towards the base. The handle is bent outwards towards the tip which has been lost. A small fragment of the bowl survives Part of the bowl survives adjacent to the reinforced stem. The spoon is 58.45mm in length, 12.4mm in width, 8.35mm thick and weighs 14.5 grams.

A copper-alloy cast spoon fragment of Post-medieval date. The fragment consists of the finial from a seal-top spoon and a section of the stem. The finial has a flat and undecorated seal top at the tip, below this it tapers slightly before expanding to a raised circumferential band which tapers towards a raised band with with foliate designs. Below this just above the stem is a slightly raised band. The stem is sub-rectangular is cross section and is incomplete due to an old break. The fragment is 38.35mm in length, 11.8mm wide, 10.8mm thick and weighs 8.0 grams.

An incomplete cast copper alloy spoon dating to the second or third centuries AD. The fragment comprises the pear-shaped bowl and a short length of the offset handle. The bowl is pear shaped in form, making it a Type 2 spoon in Crummy's (1983, 69) classification. It is plain with some abrasions to the rim and some accretions and losses of patina as a result of corrosion. A fragment consisting of the upper stem and seal top knop from a post-medieval cast copper-alloy spoon. The stem is oval in cross-section and the surviving section is 44.8mm in length and is slightly bent. Above, the seal top is typical with its collar, globular element and flared, flattened top (cf. Geake 2001; fig. 38). The seal top is sub-circular, 11.8mm in diameter, and flat plain on the upper surface. The artefact has a mid-green patina, the bottom of the stem is corroded and has a brown colour; it has been bent slightly to one side.
