A body and base sherd from a Roman ceramic Oxfordshire ware mortarium dating to the period c. AD 100 - 410. The fabric is buff orange in colour with a reduced grey core and sandy in texture and brown with a red slip. On the inner face of the mortarium are pink, grey and translucent irregularly shaped trituration grits visible on the inner surface. The fragment measures 59.25mm in length, 40.85mm wide, 20.95mm in height and weighs 32.51 grams.

An abraded rim sherd from a Roman ceramic, probably Oxfordshire ware mortarium dating to the period c. AD 100 - 410. The fabric is buff orange in colour and sandy in texture with red grog inclusions visible throughout, there appears to be a white slip in places. The sherd is 59.05mm wide, 29.2mm thick, 28.25mm in height and weighs 35.73 grams.

A ceramic Roman mortarium rim sherd. The fabric is hard with a fine texture. The fabric has a occasional small red/brown coloured inclusions. It is an off-white colour on both faces with an oxidised salmon pink core. The mortarium has a convex rim and is decorated by the break with cross hatching. The sherd is 57.8mm in length, 25.45mm wide, 11.90mm thick and weighs 19.32 grams.

A ceramic mortarium rim sherd. The fabric is hard with a fine texture. The fabric has a occasional small red/brown coloured inclusions. It is an off-white colour. The mortarium has a reeded rim. The sherd is slightly abraded and is only a fragment of the complete vessel. It weighs 65.35g. The sherd was probably made at Mancetter, Warwickshire or at the Oxfordshire kilns and dates to the 2nd to 4th centuries (Tyers, P. 1996 'Roman Pottery in Britain' Routledge; p.123).

A rim sherd of a wheel made ceramic mortarium/mortaria. The rim has a horizontal 'S' shaped profile which forms a cordon on the upper interior edge. Only a fragment of the bowl remains. The fabric, a white ware, is hard has a fine texture. There are small red inclusions within the fabric. The sherd is abraded, weighs 60.3 grams. The sherd is possibly Oxfordshire white ware mortaria, which dates to c. 240 to 300 AD (Young, C. 2000 The Roman Pottery Industry of the Oxford Region BAR British Series 43 pp. 61ff). The rim is possibly a type M17 (Young, p. 72).
