A medieval copper alloy single loop rectangular buckle frame with plate dating to AD 1200-1400.
The buckle is broadly rectangular, the outer edge of the loop is orval in cross section and slightly narrowed in contrast to the edges of the frame. The edges of the frame curve outwards slightly and are rectangular in cross section. The pin bar is narrowed and the pin survives.
The plate is formed from a single rectangular copper-alloy sheet which has been folded over the pin bar. There is a central recess for the pin. At the tip of the plate are two incomplete circular perforations…

An incomplete copper alloy gilded medieval single loop D-shaped buckle missing its pin dating to c AD 1250-1450. The buckle frame is broadly D shaped with three expansions, it is D shaped in cross section. A rivet with a rounded top is located within a perforation in each of these expansions. The pin bar is narrowed and recessed. The reverse of the buckle is flat.
The buckle is 23.4mm in length, 25.45mm wide, 4.6mm maximum thickness and weighs 3.43 grams.

An incomplete copper alloy medieval single loop D-shaped buckle with lipped frame dating to c AD 1250-1450, the pin is missing. The buckle frame is D-shaped with a slightly lipped frame decorated with a circumferential groove. The frame narrows and is connected by a circular profile pin bar.
The buckle is 12.7mm in length, 18.55mm wide and weighs 1.38 grams.

A copper alloy medieval buckle dating to the period c. AD 1250 - 1400. The pin survives but is damaged. The frame of the buckle is broadly ovular in shape with a small projecting knop at each end of the pin bar. The outer edge of the buckle features two moulded projecting knops and two transverse grooves which would have flanked the pin rest. The pin tapers to the point and measures 23mm in length and 2.05mm wide.
The buckle measures 23.5mm in length, 33.4mm wide and weighs 7.78 grams.

An incomplete copper-alloy single-loop buckle and plate of medieval date. Only a fragment of the loop of the buckle and the recessed pin bar survive. The pin is missing.
The plate is broadly rectangular tapering to the tip (18.45mm to 12.85mm) and rectangular in cross section.
The buckle plate is formed from a single piece of metal bent over the strap bar and back on itself. A slot has been cut in it to let the missing pin fit through. There is a single perforation which holds a square rivet. The buckle is bent.

An incomplete medieval (AD 1100-1200) copper alloy zoomorphic gaping mouth beast buckle frame of extraordinary form, missing the lower section of the frame, its pin and plate. It measures 31.75mm in length, 22.3mm wide, 18.25mm in height and weighs 18.98 grams.

An incomplete copper-alloy buckle plate of medieval date. The plate is rectangular tapering to the tip (17.55mm to 14.0mm and rectangular in cross section, the buckle is missing.
The buckle plate is formed from a single piece of metal bent over the strap bar and back on itself, the reverse is square (14.15mm wide). A slot has been cut in it to let the pin fit through. There is a single perforation which would have held the missing rivet located near the slot. The front face is decorated with tinning and rocker arm decoration.

A copper-alloy medieval annular buckle dating to the period c. AD 1200 - 1400. It measures 37.65mm in diameter, 30.35mm internal diameter, is 4mm thick and weighs 10.71g. The buckle exhibits a circular frame with a circular cross section. The pin is triangular in shape and exhibits a slight depression on the underside at the point when it rests across the frame. The pin base of the pin is wrapped around the buckle frame. It exhibits a small ridge at the point where the pin and the frame meet. The frame shows evidence of internal wear.

A copper alloy double loop annular buckle dating to c AD 1350-1650 with an iron pin. The buckle is undecorated and comprises a circular band 9.03mm wide and 3.30 thick. The sides are bevelled so that the profile is D shaped. There is an integral bar across the centre of the circular band which also has bevelled sides. A complete Medieval cast copper alloy buckle with narrowed offset strap bar. The frame is a single loop oval with notched lip flanked by knops either side, the central propjection is slightly recessed on the upper surface to act as a pin rest. The majority of the reverse is flat. The pin survives.
The buckle is 22.6mm in length, 30.2mm wide and weighs 6.51 grams.

The buckple plate is wrapped around the pin bar with a D shaped recess for the pin. The plate tapers from 8.85mm to 8.0mm wide and has a single perforation at the tip with an in situ rivet.
The buckle and plate measures 29.6mm in length, 14.3mm wide, 3.8mm thick and weighs 2.48 grams.
