The wings and head are missing due to an old break. Around this central area is a copper alloy band. A similar band flanks the outside edge, though is worn and broken away in places. The area between the two bands is a single cell filled with blue. An incomplete flat disc brooch of Roman date (AD 80 -150), missing the catchplate and pin. The brooch is circular in plan and decorated with a raised circumferential band. The remainder of the front face is undecorated, a white substance is visible, possibly solder or a fixing agent. The lugs and a fragment of a pin are visible on the reverse, iron corrosion is visible within both perforations. The catchplate is missing, only a fragment survives. The brooch measures 33.45mm in diameter, 11.15mm thick (maximum), 2.05mm thick (minimum) and weighs 9.09 grams.

An incomplete Late Iron Age/ early Roman (AD 20-80) copper- alloy Colchester one-piece brooch missing the pin. The wings are complete but bent backwards slightly. The hook and the spring are complete, the spring is slightly bent. The pin is missing. The catchplate is incomplete. The bow is curved and sub-circular in cross section, but becomes flattened where it joins the catchplate. The bow is bent inwards. No decoration is visible on the bow which tapers towards the tip. The brooch is 43.25mm in length, 12.75mm wide and weighs 5.29 grams.
