A collection of 13 lead cloth seals and bag seals all found within the footprint of a now demolished bacon curing factory (Harris') in Calne, Wiltshire. Ten of these seals are post medieval (1540-1900), the remainder are medieval (1066-1539). 3 bag type seals of WEBB & SONS MANFrs SALTNEY CHESTER, on the reverse is a central horseshoe-like design within which are possible blades of cereal sprouting topped with the word WEBBS and REGISTERED TRADE MARK around the edge. A complete cast lead pan weight, circular in plan and rectangular in profile with VIII stamped on the front face. It weighs 226g, which is just less than eight Averdupois ounces. The style of the letters suggests cAD 1600 - 1800. It is 47.25mm in diameter, c14.5mm thick, though this varies a little.The lead appears to have been battered a little out of shape, perhaps while in the ground, but there is also evidence that an edge may have been taken off, while there are also one or two small accretions of lead which suggest additions.

A complete post medieval lead cloth seal dating to AD 1500-1700. The seal is composed of two roughly circular discs linked together. Disc one has the initials DG stamped on it. Disc two which is somewhat smaller, has what might be a depiction of the Cross or a letter X and a letter L. This weighs 4.18grams, and the maximum diameter is 19.3mm. There is also a fragment of lead possibly associated with the seal which shares the same grid reference. This fragment appears to be two small pieces of lead bent together with no clear shape. This fragment weighs 2.62 grams.

A lead post medieval window came dating to the period c. AD 1600 - 1700. The came is trapeziodal in shape with three H-shaoed projections running along the top. By reference to similar waste from London a 17th-century date can be suggested (Egan 2005, 147; ref. 782). The lead has an off white patina with traces of grey along the edges where there has been more recent damage. The window came measures 38.7mm in length, 7.15mm thick and weighs 14.58 grams.

A Post Medieval lead bag seal comprising two halves. On one side is a horse going right, on the other is a probable letter 'S' within a raised circle. The seal is roughly oval in plan, It has a maximum length of 15.49 m, a maximum width of 11.76mm and a thickness of 4.22mm. It weighs 3.31 grams.

An incomplete lead steelyard weight of probable Roman date (c. AD 43 - 410). It measures 29.1mm in length, 33.5mm in diameter and weighs 141 g. The weight is roughly spherical and widens in the centre. The weight is scratched and pitted, although the pattination of the lead suggests that this is old damage. There is an incompete iron suspension loop projecting from the tip of the weight. The base is flat with no projecting iron.

A complete medieval lead papal bulla of antipope John XXIII, dating to AD 1410-1415. On one face can be seen the letters SPA SPE (for St Paul and St Peter) with the heads of St Paul and St Peter. On the other side is the inscription IOHAN / NES: PP: / .XXIII. This bulla was attached to a document issued by Pope John XXIII, who was elected pope in 1410, deposed by the Council of Basel in 1415, and died in 1419.

A lead medieval personal seal matrix dating to the period c. AD 1200 - 1440. The seal matrix is circular and flat, with a bevelled edge sloping on the reverse. The obverse exhibits a central design of a crescent with what should be a star above; the star in fact appears to have a straight central stem with downcurved branches and looks more like a palm tree. The central design is surrounded by an inscription probably reading *S' RIC'DI DE FERNE (Seal of Richard of Fern). A cast lead pump clack, which is part of a crude non-return valve from an old water pump. The object is formed from a solid disc of lead, projecting up from the centre is a mushroom shaped extension. The mushroom piece fitted through a slot in a leather strap inside the box. When water was drawn up the pipe into the box with the spout, the clack lifted to let the water in and then fell back over the hole so that it ran out through the spout into the bucket and not back into the well.
