An incomplete ceramic Crockerton ware jug dating to the 17th or 18th century. The fabric has a powdery feel and is decorated with a slip and multiple motifs. The majority of the rim and handle of the jug are missing. The rim is slightly expanded. The rim is c. 110mm in diameter. Internally the jug is glazed. The jug is decorated with multiple motifs,consisting of vertical floral motifs, circular motifs and zig zag motifs. Below the base of the handle is a incised flower. The jug expands to the base which is decorated with an incised horizontal motif.

An abraded and incomplete glazed ceramic handle from a jug of medieval Laverstock ware. The fabric is sandy with flint inclusuions and traces of green glaze on the outside. It is decorated with ring-and-dot stamps. The fragment is 54.4mm in length, 20.75mm wide, 18.85mm thick and weighs 27.75 grams.

A jug handle fragment from a Medieval vessel, light red oxidised fabric with a reduced grey core. The sherd has a fine sandy temper, with quartzite material and iron ore. Body sherd from a Post-Medieval, 16th - 17th century, wheel-made South Somerset ware slipped sgraffito jug. The ceramic has a pink fabric with sparse inclusions of small nodules of iron oxide and a slightly reduced light grey core. The jug has been slipped with a light buff clay on the outerside which has been decorated using sgraffito (scratches); two horizontal lines, the upper made of two converging lines, with an incomplete oval incision below. The fragment has a bright green lead glaze on the front face which is worn in places and appears darker where it is deeper in the scratche…

Body sherd from a Medieval Bristol-ware jug dating to the 13th - 14th century, probably Redcliff ware. The fragment has an grey fabric with c. 20% fine sand temper. There is a mid olive lead glaze visible on the outer surface. The sherd has relatively fresh breaks and weighs 4.49 grams.

A sherd of a wheel made Medieval Bristol-ware ceramic jug dating to the 13th - 16th century AD. The fragment consists of part of the body and the base of the attached drawn handle. The vessel has an mid-orange fabric with a reduced grey core and no visible inclusions. There are deep vertical slashes on the outerside of the handle to assist with firing. There iare patches of a clear pale olive glaze on the outer side of the vessel. The sherd weighs 22.8 grams

An incomplete 19th or 20th century wheel made ceramic jug, made in the Verwood potteries. The jug is complete apart from the breaks around the rim which have removed most of the spout, the glaze has been heavily worn just below the spout due to constant use. The rim flares outwards slightly with a rounded top and would have measured around 10cm in internal diameter. The neck constricts below the rim before widening out towards the belly, below the belly it narrowing towards the base, which has a diameter of c.15cm. The handle is complete and runs from just below the rim to just above …
