An incomplete copper alloy Roman bow and fantail brooch consisting of the bow and catchplate. The upper section of the bow, the wings and pin are missing. The remaining section is flat and trapezoid with an old break across the top edge from which the sides expand outwards to meet the straight lower edge. The front is decorated with three longiudinal incisions located either side of a raised longiduninal ridge with centre incision. The foot, catchplate and part of the bow of a cast copper-alloy Roman bow brooch. The majority of the bow has been lost, the break is situated around halfway along the bow. In profile, the bow is straight and broadly circular in plan. A three vertical ridges are visible along the length of the bow. The bow tapers to an undecorated foot. On the reverse of the bow there is a damaged catchplate. The surface of the brooch has a mid green coloured patina. The brooch is 32.45mm long, 4.5mm wide, 8.1mm thick and weighs 1.94 grams.

In profile, the bow is straight and is undecorated, it is broadly rectangular in cross section. The bow tapers to an expanded circular foot with a flat base which is undecorated. On the reverse of the bow there is a damaged solid catchplate. The surface of the brooch has a mid green coloured patina. The artefact is 14.05mm long, 8.35mm wide, 8.05mm thick and weighs 1.70grams.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy sexfoil brooch of Medieval date c. 1200 - 1500. The brooch is sexfoil in plan and broadly circular to oval in cross section. It has been identified as an annular brooch because of the constriction for the pin, the pin is missing. The sexfoil frame has slightly expanding sides at each point, a oval recess is located at each point. The recesses are filled with a white substance, the settings are missing. The reverse is bevelled on the inner and outer edges. The buckle is 16.5mm in length, 15.6mm wide, 2.75mm thick and weighs 0.90 grams.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman bow brooch. The object survives in very fine condition, the head of the brooch, the bow above the catchplate and the pin are missing. The bow is sub-oval in cross section at the break the brooch has a hollow oval recess (3.7mm in length, 2.65mm wide and 3.7mm deep), perhaps through miscasting. On the reverse of the bow head there is a single central copper-alloy loop which holds the remnants of the spring and the incomplete pin which has been bent upwards. Only a fragment of the bow remains, it is broadly triangular in cross section and tapers towards the break. The brooch has a well developed mid grey/green coloured patina. The brooch measures 29.55mm length, is 13.3mm wide and 11.85mm thick. It weighs 6.89 grams.
