A Late Bronze Age gold plated penannular ring. Cracks are visible along the flat edge of the terminal suggesting the ring is plated, no corrosion product is visible on the terminals. The ring is oval in cross-section and seems to narrow a little towards the terminals (7.95mm thick at the centre, narrowing to 7.25mm). Decorative banding of a lighter-coloured yellow metal is just visible. 1150-750 BC in date.
Dimensions and metal content: The penannular ring measures 18.30mm in length, 20.3mm wide, 7.95mm thick and weighs 13.28 grams.
