Copper alloy finger ring. The ring is grooved to make it appear twisted on the outer edge of the hoop; where it lies on the finger it is flat. The bezel is octagonal in shape and has some incised decoration of a bird facing left in flight. Similar finger-rings tend to be identified as medieval; compare SOM-B5D177, KENT-D6261D and KENT-9D82DB (all dated to the late medieval period by the lettering on the bezel). The twisted hoop is thought to be a 15th century fashion (Egan in Griffiths et al 2007, 162)

Copper-alloy probable mount of probable medieval date, possibly a 'binding strip' In its present form it is S-shaped. It appears to be a mount with three symmetrical arms, one of which retains a circular tab with tapering knop. The tab has a circular perforation now filled in with corrosion but it is probable that it was hollow, which probably took a nail, pin, or rivet for attachment. The end of one arm has broken, leaving an open semi-circle of the terminal. The majority of the third arm is missing. It can be compared with binding strips illustrated in Goodall (2012, 139; fig.…
