A cast copper-alloy trumpet brooch of the early Roman period, c. 75-200. The brooch is incomplete and has been broken before the foot. The hinge, catchplate and pin are all missing. The head is oval in shape and attached to the main body of the object. There is some evidence of moulded decoration close to the termination of the object, where the foot would have been. The metal is dark green and brown. It measures 23mm in length and 15.29mm in height. The object is 9.27mm thick and weighs 3.1g.

This fitting has a flat trefoil 'button', formed from three adjoining circles. The loop (cast in one piece with the 'button') projects backwards from the rear of the head, the shank starting from the centre of the trefoil. The shank emerges at 90° to the 'button', bending as it nears the loop, which is at an angle of around 30° to the 'button', in the same plane.
