Record ID: DUR-471E06
Object type: COIN
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: County Durham
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A copper alloy core with silver plating, counterfeit halfcrown of Charles I (1625-1649).
Obv. description: king on horseback right. Obv legend: CAROLVS:D:G: [MAG'] BRI' [FRA'ET.HIB:] REX
Rev. description: round garnished shield. Rev legend: CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO
im=(R), this type of privvy mark normally dates to 1644-5, so the coin would have copied after this date.
As it's a copy it's hard to match up with a specific North number, but it is probably a copy of Group III.
