An incomplete copper-alloy knuckle guard of late medieval date, c.AD 1300 - 1400. The object comprises a curved rectangular plate with central projecting spike to the outer side. The spike is perforated, presumably due to wear. Two rivet holes are present; one to either end of the plate. The knuckle guard would have formed part of a gauntlet with the dome-shape allowing the piece to fit over an articulated knuckle. The rivet holes would have been used to fix the plate in place. Incomplete Late Early-Medieval/ Early Medieval padlock key, missing roughly half of the bit. It is best described as a variation on a Winchester type C key (I.H.Goodall in M.Biddle; 1990; pp. 1024). It has a flat, angular bow with four knops and a large circular hole 5.87mm in diameter. The shank is oval in cross-section with a collar on one side from which a moulded triangle extends, behind the bit. A socketed handle and body fragment of cast copper alloy Medieval to Post-Medieval (c.1400-1650) vessel, probably a ladle. It measures 54.45mm in length and weighs 29.2g. The handle would presumably have been of wood. The socketed handle measures 16.11x14.64mm at the open end (internal 12.38x11.27mm) with a c.5mm diameter rivet hole on the underside for a retaining pin. The socket is 46.27mm deep. A small cast and sheet copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The buckle measures 12.8mm by 13.1mm by 5.3mm and weighs 0.9g. The frame is oval with an offset bar and a central external lip with a notch for the pin. The front is convex and the back is flat. The pin is wrapped around the central bar and tapers to a point. A small portion of the sheet plate survives in situ. Similar buckles can be seen in Egan and Pritchard's 'Dress Accessories', pp. 74-5, nos. 306-9.

A cast copper alloy T-shape brooch of early Roman date. The brooch measures 40.7mm in length, 22mm in width and weighs 9.6g. The cylindrical wings conceal the axis bar for the (missing) hinged pin. Both ends of the wings are damaged. On the crest of the bow is the stub of a loop. The bow projects forwards for c. 15mm, then the angle changes and becomes more vertical. A cast copper alloy pipe tamper of post-medieval date. The pipe taper is in the form of an sleeved arm and hand holding a hammer, poised ready for use. It measures 56.3mm by 31.9mm by 7.6mm and weighs 15.7g. Hammers and arms/hands (often with clenched fist or holding scrolls) are quite common forms for pipe tampers, but this example is unusual in that it combines both.

An incomplete cast copper rowel spur of probable seventeenth century date. The end of one arm and the rowel are missing and in its current state the spur measures 120.6mm by 67.3mm by 12.7mm and weighs 71.4g. The surviving terminal is in the form of a figure-eight, with one corrosion filled loop in line with the arm and the second set perpendicular. A cast copper alloy finger ring of probable Roman date. The finger ring is plain with no bezel and a consistent width of hoop. It has a diameter of 21.2mm and weighs 1.45g. The hoop has a sub-circular cross-section with a diameter of 2mm and a slightly flattened interior. The exterior of the ring is decorated with four sections of closely-spaced incised transverse parallel lines, interspersed with four plain sections.

An incomplete cast silver strap-end of early-medieval date. The Thomas Class B, Type 1 (transverse grooved) strap-end measures 28.2mm by 7.5mm by 2.9mm and weighs 1.9g. Its width to length ratio is 1:2.6. It has a proximal split end with a trifid terminal and a central perforation. The interior side of the split end has broken off. A further perforation, which is filled with iron corrosion, is located close to the other end of the split.
