Post Medieval buckle fragment from a frame with a seperate spindle. Only the 'tube' for the seperate spindle survives with a figure of eight openwork design on the front, filled with raised rectangular pannels. It is 33.44mm long, 11.20mm wide, 3.74mm thick and weighs 2.14 grams.

Medieval cast copper alloy annular buckle. The frame is circular with no decoration. There is some damage to the surface, but the grey-green patina is largely intact. The pin is cast copper alloy, formed of an open loop wrapped around the frame with the stem extending across the frame. There is a small raised collar on the pin. The surface of the pin is largely missing, with only small patches of grey-green patina surviving. The frame is 39.02mm in diameter, 4.82mm wide, 4.58mm thick. The pin is 39.78mm long. The buckle weighs 16.4g.

Medieval cast copper alloy single loop 'D' shaped buckle frame with seperate sheet copper alloy plate. The frame has a narrowed and ofset strap bar. The plate is worn and broken around the edges, it has a recess at one end where it is folded around the strap bar of the frame, where the (now missing) pin would have been located). There are two rivets with domed heads, which would have secured the plate to a strap.
Frame: 16.33mm long, 22.84mm wide, 3.50mm thick.
Plate: 21.17mm long, 17.46mm wide, 1.33mm thick.
Rivets: 4.89mm long, 3.74mm in diameter.

Medieval copper alloy 'D' shaped buckle frame with expanded outer edge. There is a damaged copper alloy plate, formed of two sheets of copper alloy attached to the narrowed strap bar. The two plates are joined by one copper alloy rivet and one iron rivet, which has now corroded. The pin is missing. The frame is 12.47mm long, 14.02mm wide, 1.58mm thick. The plate is 19.96mm long, 7.22mm wide. It weighs 1.6 grams.

The outer edges are expanded, forming a raised circle - possibly with a flower design, however the surface is extremely worn. The reverse is plain and undecorated. Medieval cast copper alloy buckle plate. It is rectangular in plan with two incomplete projections extending from one of the shorter edges, where the buckle frame would have been located. The opposing end of the frame has two circular holes for rivets, which are now missing. The upper face of the plate has a lion passant within a beaded border. There is a small amount of gilding adhering to the upper surface. The reverse is plain and undecorated.

Early Medieval cast copper alloy buckle with seperate buckle plate.The buckle frame is oval with a narrowed strap bar, and the frame has a sub-triangular cross section. It is attached to a seperate buckle plate cast in copper alloy, with two incomplete loops joining it to the frame. The upper surface of the plate has a raised rectangular section containing a white organic inlay (probably bone) with a cenral circular hole, presumably where an alternate material had been inlaid.
