An extremely worn, heat affected silver post-medieval coin: possibly a threepence of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603) dating to the later 16th century. Unclear initial mark. Probably struck at London. Measurements: 17.5 mm diameter, weight 0.95 g The surface of the coin has been affected, probably by post-depositional heating, to the point that pellets have formed on both surfaces. Most detail has been obscured, apart from a small section of a beaded inner circle and the legend beyond, at this point.
