An incomplete Roman lead steelyard weight, dating to the period c. AD 43-410. The weight is circular in cross section and bi-conical in plan. At its apex is the worn and corroded remains of an iron suspension loop, broken at thepoint it would have projected from the weight. It expands out towards its middle before narrowing again towards its lower terminus. It measures 35mm in length, 40mm in diameter at its widest, and weighs 283.3g.
