A vesica-shaped medieval lead alloy seal matrix. The object is in fair condition, is 41mm long, 29mm wide, 3mm thick and weighs 24.39g.  Central motif: Two-armed cross with six pellets placed between the upright and horizontal arms. Legend:  (S?) ROGERVS CERD(?)C(?)R(?)MRI: Seal of Roger(?). . . A complete copper alloy Seal Matrix of Medieval date (AD 1300-1400). The object is composed of a hexagonally faceted handle, with a central circular perforation, which tapers before expanding to form a perforated loop with a collar. At the base the matrix widens to accommodate the circular die which is engraved with a central motif.
