Foot and catch plate from an Anglo-Saxon copper alloy small long brooch. The brooch is broken in front of the catch plate part way within the bow; this bow bears a small area of decoration with a raised dorsal ridge between sunken panels. Just to the rear of the catch plate the upper surface is decorated with two transverse bands. Below this the foot of the brooch flares out to a flat, narrow undecorated terminal. The lower surface retains the incomplete catchplate. The object is in good condition, with a grey/green patina, is 40mm long, 9mm wide, 6mm thick and weighs 3.42g.
