A complete copper alloy post-medieval crotal bell dating to c.1650-1850. The bell has worn radiating lines with possible initials on the shield flanking the sound-slot. The bell is 38.1 mm in length and has a diameter of 28.7mm. It weighs 37.92, inclusive of the soil still retained within it. Contemporary illustrations often show bells worn as sets on the harnesses of larger animals such as oxon and donkeys.
