An incomplete cast possible tin/lead-alloy or pewter whistle dating from the post-Medieval to modern period (c.1800-1900). The whistle is decorated with at least three round mouldings along its body. There is one large knop on one moulding and up to four smaller knops on the other, possibly for small attachment loops for bells or other rattling equipment. The mouth piece is at one end of the whistle, with a sound hole just in front. The other end of the whistle is broken. Most of these whistle rattles are known to have been made in silver which would have probably been much healthier …

A cast lead shield shape trade weight of medieval date. The weight has a flat top with tapering triangular sides. On the obverse there are three vertical lines joimed at the top by a horizontal line in relief. This pattern may have been taken from a coat of arms, but its simplicity makes it hard to identify. A similar group of shield shaped trade weights are noted by Biggs in his study of English weights (Biggs, 1992: pp. 37-45). Although the dating of these weights is uncertain, the…

A cast lead conical weight. The weight has a central piercing on the base which is 9.7mm in diameter. The piercing goes through to a narrow opening on the side which is 4.8mm in length, possibly a casting error. The weight is 24.8mm in length and 16.4mm in diameter. It weighs 15.03gms. Cast lead disk shaped weight. On one side are the worn remains of a design possibly a buckle in a ring with three solid lobes around the ring. The buckle is the badge of the local Pelham family and was in use from 1350. It measures 48.24mm in diameter and is 13.58mm thick. It weighs 208.4grams. Simple lead weights were easily made and are hard to date precisely so a general later medieval to post medieval date is suggested.
