An incomplete silver Post Medieval halfgroat of the Commonwealth. (c.AD 1649-1660). No initial mark. Tower of London mint. The coin is clipped. Obverse description: Shield of St. George within a wreath formed of a palm and laurel branch. Reverse description: Two conjoined shields of St George and Ireland with the mark of value II above. The coin measures 17.4mm diameter and is 0.6mm thick. It weighs 0.88 grams.
