Object type: TOKEN
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Kent
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A complete Post Medieval cast lead circular uniface token dating c. AD 1750-1850. The obverse of the token has the letter R stamped into it. The reverse is blank. Measurements: 12.25 mm in diameter, 1.48 mm thick and weighs 1.7 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally, they are therefore hard to date precisely but those with initials are thought to be Post Medieval (1550-1850 AD). Due to the style of lettering this particular token probably comes from the latter part of this date range and may date to between 1750-1850.
