An incomplete Medieval silver groat of Henry VI (1422-1461), minted at Calais. Initial marks: cross II/cross II. Annulet issue, 1422-1427 (North 1991: 74, ref: 1424). Obverse: hEnRIC DI GRA REX AnGL Z FRAnC (saltire stops); Crowned bust facing within a tressure of nine arches (annulets by neck) Reverse: POSVI/DEVm A/DIVTOR/E mEVm (I have made God my Helper) (saltire and annulet stops); VIL/LA/CALI/SIE (double saltire stops); Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant (an annulet in two quadrants) Diameter: 26.29 mm. Thickness: 0.72 Weight: 3.3g.
