A lower Palaeolithic flake dating to 800,000 - 250,000 BC, possibly Clactonian. The flake is sub-rectangular in shape and has a crested cross-section. This is a primary flake where the whole of the dorsal and ventral face are covered by a smooth light brown cortex with a rougher beige patina in some areas. A fragment of a lower Palaeolithic flint ficron handaxe dating to 800,000 - 250,000 BC. The fragment is trapezoidal in plan, and lozenge-shaped in cross-section. Both faces have invasive, semi-abrupt, scaled retouch. The sides of the fragment have short, scaled, low angled retouch. The distal end has an old break and a width of 28.3mm. The fragment then tapers outwards towards a wider butt which also has an old break with a width of 39.3mm. An incomplete lower Palaeolithic flint sub-cordate handaxe dating to c.300,000 - 200,000 BC. The handaxe is ovoid in plan and pointed oval in cross-section. Both faces have invasive, semi-abrupt, scaled retouch. Around the sides of the whole handaxe there are short, stepped, low angled retouch. On one face at the wide rounded butt there are angled jagged breaks which are patinated with multi shades of grey and white patches. A collection of eight later prehistoric blades and bladelet flakes, probably dating from c. 7000 - 2400 BC (Mesolithic to Neolithic). The blades have all been made on a mottled grey flint; seven are tertiary flakes while on is secondary with a very small area of retouch on the distal tip. None of the blades are retouched. A small flint bladelet of later prehistoric date, probably dating from c. 7000 - 3000 BC (Mesolithic/Neolithic). The flake is made from a light grey flint which has small areas of iron staning on the dorsal surface. The flake is incomplete and is missing the proximal end with the platform and bulb. Lines of percussion are visible on the ventral surface. There is some crude, hasty retouch on the left dosal edge. This flake forms part of an assemblage of flint artefacts of later prehistoric date.

A later prehistoric flake, probably dating from c. 4000 - 2200 BC (Neolithic period). The form of the flake is similar to later Neolithic fabricators however the retouch is quite fresh and cuts through the surface patina on both dorsal and ventral surfaces (Alison Roberts Ashmolean Museum, pers. comm). This suggests a more modern date for the retouch. The flake has been made on a mottled mid grey flint with approximately 25% cortext remaining on the dorsal surface. This flake forms part of an assemblage of flint artefacts of later prehistoric date.

A later prehistoric bladelet core, dating from c. 7000 - 2400 BC (Mesolithic / Neolithic). The core has been made on a mottled light grey flint with a deep seam of cortex covering approximately 40% of the whole. There are several small blade removals and other removal scars as well as more modern damage. This core forms part of an assemblage of flint artefacts of later prehistoric date. Although bladelets are generally assumed to be of Mesolthic date, this core is not definingly of that date and may be later.

The broken tip from a large flint 'long blade' implement. The flint is pale grey-blue in colour. The artefact has been provisionally dated to the final upper palaeolithic period (40,000 - 8,300 BC) although based on the tip of the blade alone this cannot be confirmed. The artefact measures 33.84mm long by 17.62mm wide, is 3.55mm thick and weighs 2.16g.
