A lower Palaeolithic flake dating to 800,000 - 250,000 BC, possibly Clactonian. The flake is sub-rectangular in shape and has a crested cross-section. This is a primary flake where the whole of the dorsal and ventral face are covered by a smooth light brown cortex with a rougher beige patina in some areas. A fragment of a lower Palaeolithic flint ficron handaxe dating to 800,000 - 250,000 BC. The fragment is trapezoidal in plan, and lozenge-shaped in cross-section. Both faces have invasive, semi-abrupt, scaled retouch. The sides of the fragment have short, scaled, low angled retouch. The distal end has an old break and a width of 28.3mm. The fragment then tapers outwards towards a wider butt which also has an old break with a width of 39.3mm. An incomplete lower Palaeolithic flint sub-cordate handaxe dating to c.300,000 - 200,000 BC. The handaxe is ovoid in plan and pointed oval in cross-section. Both faces have invasive, semi-abrupt, scaled retouch. Around the sides of the whole handaxe there are short, stepped, low angled retouch. On one face at the wide rounded butt there are angled jagged breaks which are patinated with multi shades of grey and white patches. A complete flint bladelet with a rubbed end dating to the Late Upper Palaeolithic or early Mesolithic period, c. 40,000 - 7,000 BC. The bladelet has been made from a tertiary flake of a mottled dark brown flint. Part of the platform has been retained and this also appears to have been rubbed, as has the distal end. There are thin flake scars over the dorsal surface. There is possible ancient reutilisation damage on the left hand edge.

A flint end-scraper made on a thick flake of a brown-orange flint. The scraper is sub-square in plan and broadly rectangular in profile, although the large bulb is retained on the reverse. There has been some recortication of the scraper, with this extending over the hard hammer retouching on the right side of the distal end. There are more modern removals (cutting through the patina of the recortication) to the left hand edge. This piece is hard to date as its execution is generally undiagnostic, however it is potentially Palaeolithic (c. 450,000-10,000 BC).

A lower palaeolithic handaxe, dating from c. 476,000 - 421,000 BC. The handaxe has been made of a flint nodule that has a greyish-white outer colouring, likely to be from a chalk downlands source. Dating from the Anglian phase of the Lower Palaeolithic, c. 478,000 to 423,000 years ago, the hand axe has bifacial removals made using a hard hammer, such as another stone. Although the hand axe has some post-depositional damage and iron staining, it survives in very good condition. Undiagnostic struck flint flakes often referred to as debitage. The broken tip from a large flint 'long blade' implement. The flint is pale grey-blue in colour. The artefact has been provisionally dated to the final upper palaeolithic period (40,000 - 8,300 BC) although based on the tip of the blade alone this cannot be confirmed. The artefact measures 33.84mm long by 17.62mm wide, is 3.55mm thick and weighs 2.16g.

Small area of cortex (approx. 5%) on the tip of the flake. There are three removal scars on the dorsal surface. The flake appears to have come from the top of the core ?a core rejuvenating flake.
