Incomplete iron knife. Blade section triangular. From tang blade angles sharply up to back, and shallowly down to blade edge. Rectangular sectioned tang, slightly tapering in thickness (not width?) towards end - the tang appears to be complete. The blade is broken after 38mm. Length (incomplete) 80.4mm, width across blade back 5.0mm, width across tang 5.2mm, thickness across blade 18mm, thickness of tang at junction with blade (top to bottom) 6.4mm & at end 4.7mm, weight 12.82g.

Probable knife end-cap, Medieval or post-Medieval. Iron, oval in section, ractangular in plan, with a raised nipple at the end. The end has become detached but still fits on the end-cap. Concave on the attchment end; corrosion obscures the tang but it appears to have been a whittle tang. Length (including detached piece) 18.9mm, width 22.6mm, thickness 11.8mm, weight 12.63g.

Wrought iron double-ended hook object. Circular-sectioned rods forming an open heart-shaped frame, with a hook (internal width 16.5mm) curving in the same plane as the frame at the top, and broken across what appears to be another hook projecting from the pointed end at 90 degrees to the rest of the object.  Corroded. Length 97.0mm, width 53.8mm, thickness c.7.5mm, weight 52.6g. Probably Roman as all other datable finds from the area are.

Probable Medieval iron annular (ring) buckle. Circular frame, with iron wire pin simply looped around the frame. Diameter 14.5mm, thickness 2.8mm, length of pin 15.5mm, weight 1.46g. For parallels see Egan and Pritchard 1991 ('Dress Accessories', HMSO) p.59-60 dating from c.1270-1380. The publication suggests that small copper alloy annular buckles date from the later 13th-14th century, and larger ones from the late 14th century (p.58).
