Disc Brooch The disc brooch, which was partially hidden by degraded wood, was removed by conservators and was in poor condition (MoLSS 2000). The complete brooch is 66-68mm in diameter and 8mm thick. The registered find number is . The brooch has a stepped profile with a gold-coloured metal surface and a blue-green domed centrepiece (Garrett 2000). It consists of two copper alloy discs bound by a white paste and held together by 'thin copper alloy bands around the edge' (Blackmore 2002). A worn cast copper alloy mount with a rectangular integral suspension loop. The mount has two parallel ridges decorated with a foliate designs. The side of the rectangular loop is a circular loop. The lower prt of the mount has an hourglass shaped plate decorated in a foliar design. The staining of the two iron rivets that must have fitted it to a strap can be seen.The back of the object is undesorated. The exact function of this object is not known. A similar object was published by Read (2001, 39 no. 371) as a suggested sword-belt mount.

A complete medieval single looped copper alloy buckle and belt plate. The curved side of the frame is broad and angled and has a scrollwork decoration visible despite the pitting of the surface. The belt fitting consists of a strip of copper alloy folded through the buckle, with a hole for the pin. This is held in place by four dome headed rivets. Despite the poor preservation of the metal traces of gilding can be seen.
