The bow tapers from a flared head to an abraded point, the foot knop is lost. The head of the brooch is complete, oval in plan, and tapers into the bow. A distorted cast copper alloy forked spacer from a composite strap-end of medieval date (1300-1450 AD). The spacer has a circular frame, with a lozengiform collared projection, probably intended as an acorn knop, from the opposing end two triangular shaped prongs of a forked spacer project. Apart from the acorn knop it is undecorated and finished with deep file scratches. The knop is thicker than the rest of the flat frame. An incomplete cast copper alloy, single loop buckle cast with an integral plate, dating from the medieval period c. AD 1250 - 1400. Only the plate remains as the frame of the buckle is lost due to old damage. In form the buckle is very small and would originally have had an oval frame. The plate is broadly rectangular in plan and D shaped in cross ection. It is decorated with a series of three bosses seperated by double transverse ribs. A fragment from the lower bow and foot of a cast copper alloy brooch most probably of Roman date (AD50-350). The alloy of the metal is relatively unusual seeming to be heavily leaded creating a very grey coloured alloy. The form of the brooch comprises an angular bow which has transverse ribs terminating in a large moulded D shaped bead from which an oval shaped foot descends. An incomplete and distorted cast copper alloy Jews harp of probable post-Medieval date (c. 1500-c. 1800). The lyre-shaped instrument is near complete with only the iron twanger being lost. It is broadly symmetrical in plan; with a sub-circular head and tapering arms which are characteristically lozenge-shaped in cross-section. A cast copper-alloy dress or hair pin of Early-Medieval date (c. AD 700-900). The head is bi-conical with a domed top and conical lower half. Underneath the head is a single circumferential collar from which a circular cross-sectioned shaft extends. The shaft tapers gradually along its length and has a rounded terminal. This may be broken slightly and is very worn. The surfaces of the metal has mottled mid green and brown patination. The pin is 49mm long. The head is 6.5mm in diameter and the shaft is a maximum of 4mm diameter. The pin weighs 2.80 grams.
