A copper alloy circular guinea coin weight dating from the Post Medieval period, being used after 1773 until about 1800. The obverse is heavily eroded and the surface design is lost - originally it would have contained the weight of a full guinea being 5 penny weights and 6 grains or 5 penny weights and 8 grains. The reverse is inscribed GUINEAS / COINED / BEFORE / 1772 over four lines arranged vertically. The weight has a diameter of 20.4mm, and is 4.2mm thick. It has a mass of 6.40 grams. A heavily worn eroded and abraded copper alloy coin weight for a gold Angel of probable 17th century date (1600-1700). The coin weight is bi-faced and a square (or possibly lozenge) shape in plan. The design on the obverse (front face) is much worn and shows a standing figure with one leg cocked - it is most likely to be the winged Angel of St Michael spearing a dragon beneath his feet. This weight is marked on both sides with three pairs of vertical marks S D / 13 6 / S N so would weigh coins of the equivalent 13 shillings 6 pence and the issuer / maker would be S N. The coin weight is a mid grey brown colour with a pitted and abraded surface. The coin weight measures 17.6mm diameter, is 2.9mm thick and weighs 4.54 grams (0.16ozs 69.9 grains).

Reverse crowned XX S over two lines contained within a circle. It is likely that this weight was used to verify the weight of a Laurel of James I (Withers p 14-d).
