A fragment of a Neolithic partially polished flint axehead or chisel, the cutting edge reworked probably in the Early Bronze Age, and probably after the original object had been damaged, to form a knife, scraper or other tool. It measures 42.32x52.92x13.77mm and weighs 28.92g. The flint is 100% heavily patinated, although the narrow flake removal scars on the retouched face are of a slightly different colour to the patination of the polished areas (towards the cutting edge on this face). A worn fragment of copper-alloy casting waste of probable Bronze Age to Roman date (c. 1500 BC - AD 410). This object is oval in plan and sub-triangular in section, with one side tapering moderately and the other more gently from the centre of the upper surface. Along the upper surface of this artefact are the remains of a single casting jet or runner, which runs the length of the object and is rectangular in plan; it is also heavily abraded which has resulted in the loss of the complete form of the jet. A broken cast copper-alloy tinned pin head from an Iron Age swan's neck pin. The head is solid and circular with a central perforation (Int. Dia.: 3.8mm). The surfaces are slightly concave and thin towards the hole. Both sides are decorated with a zone just inside the circumference defined by a pair of circular incisions. Between them the zone is decorated with fine transverse nicks to give a ropework effect. This decoration is repeated for one half of the rim, starting to one side of the integral shaft. An incomplete hinged medieval copper-alloy fitting: possibly a harness pendant set. The potential set consists of a sub-rectangular suspension arm and the upper part of the potential pendant. The suspension arm has a splayed terminal of three prongs formed by two V-shaped removals. The removals are slightly irregular and the central prong is not straight. This terminal is delineated by a pair of transverse incisions on the upper surface. There is a further pair at a similar distance from the other end. A cast copper-alloy dish-support from a late medieval/early post-medieval chafing dish. The fragment consists of the tapering support of trapezoidal cross-section and a small part of the everted vessel rim. There is incised linear decoration on the rim both internally and externally. The artefact now has a dark grey patina with a patch of green corrosion product. Similar supports can be found on this database, e.g. IOW-4A2B78.

A cast copper-alloy fragment almost certainly from a medieval stirrup. The object is broken at the two shorter ends and can thus be said to be sub-trapezoidal. It is divided in half by a median ridge (W.: c. 7.5mm). On either side of this is an incised groove before a narrow low ridge. The field beyond is decorated by a pair of lines incised in saltire.
